It is very important to start Braces during the teenage years and sometimes even earlier.
Why? Because during the early teenage years the bones are still growing, and this growth acts like an engine helping the teeth to move around and making the treatment much easier than during adulthood.
Have you noticed in an airport those travelers with their luggages, some of them taking the moving walkways, moving forward so easily, and the other travelers avoiding the walkway and moving much slower?
Well the travelers are like the teeth and the moving walkway would be the underlying bones during their growth years. The teeth move much easier with the help of the growing bones
Later in life, there are no more moving walkways, no more help from the growing bones simply because they stopped growing, and it takes much longer to do the same treatment during adulthood.
That is why the treatment approach for adults is completely different from the teens treatment, but that's another story for another video.
Dear teenagers, ask mom and dad to take you to the dentist as early as the age of 10 if you haven't done so yet, and follow your dentist advice and recommendation.
And dear moms and dads, aligning teeth and correcting the bite is the second best lifetime investment you could offer to your kids, the first being of course their education. They will be forever grateful to you.
